Záhrada má prísny pôdorys a vzájomne kolmými cestami je rozdelená do pravidelných sektorov. Ihneď ma zaujali bohato kvitnúce letničkovo trvalkové výsadby. Miešajú sa v nich železníky argentínske, ageráty, krasuľky, ibišteky, begónie či rudbekie. Tieto záhony sú tematicky vysadené podľa farby - fialovo ružová, červeno oranžová a bielo krémová. Veľmi efektné. Na začiatku záhrady stojí mohutná kamenno drevená pergola tvoriaca tmavý tunel.  Je porastená thunbergiou veľkokvetou.  

The garden has a strict floor plan and is divided into regular sectors by perpendicular paths. I was immediately attracted by the richly flowering perennial plantings. They are mixed with verbenas, agerates, marigolds, hibiscus, begonias and rudbeckias. These beds are thematically planted according to color - purple-pink, red-orange and white-cream. Very effective. At the beginning of the garden stands a massive stone and wooden pergola forming a dark tunnel. It is overgrown with large-flowered thunbergia.

Prechodom popod pergolu som sa dostal k okraju záhrady, ktorú tvorí múrik na okraji strmého svahu. Naskytá sa mi výhľad na celé mesto smerom do vnútrozemia, aj smerom k moru. V záhrade objavujem krásne a zaujímavé botanické skvosty - tetrapanax, magnóliu veľkokvetú, solitérne citrusy, ale aj bežné druhy ako figovníky a cédre. Aj keď bolo okolo desať hodín dopoludnia, slnko nesmierne pálilo a musel som pohybovať čo najviac v tieni.  

Passing under the pergola, I reached the edge of the garden, which is formed by a wall on the edge of a steep slope. I have a view of the whole city inland, and towards the sea. In the garden, I discover beautiful and interesting botanical gems - tetrapanax, evergreen magnolia, solitary citrus trees, but also common species such as fig trees and cedars. Although it was around ten o'clock in the morning, the sun was extremely hot and I had to move as much as possible in the shade.

Na konci záhrady objavujem samostatnú "miestnosť" so symetrickou a útulnou bylinkovou záhradou v talianskom štýle. V stredovej osi sú tri malé vodné prvky a chodníky sú vytvorené z mozaiky okruhliakov a tehál. Záhony očividne trpeli vysokými teplotami a už nevyzerali sviežo. Pre stredomorské záhrady je to normálne. Neváham a prstami ovoniavam všade prítomné bylinky - šalvie, rozmaríny, levandule a bazalky. 

At the end of the garden I discover a separate "room" with a symmetrical and cozy Italian-style herb garden. There are three small water features in the central axis and the paths are made of a mosaic of cobblestones and bricks. The beds were obviously suffering from the high temperatures and no longer looked fresh. This is normal for Mediterranean gardens. I don't hesitate and use my fingers to smell the herbs present everywhere - sage, rosemary, lavender and basil.

Po schodoch vychádzam naspäť do kláštornej záhrady. Prezerám si ďalšie zmiešané záhony. Nachádzam tu aj záhony plné ruží a vyzerali celkom sviežo. Medzi stromami tu stojí hmyzí hotel a veľmi zvláštna železná plastika. Vyzerá ako čipkovaná a na paneli sú umiestnené tri kruhy. Mali nízky odpor a tak po ich roztočení sa krútili veľmi dlho. Výsledkom bola akási optická hra tvarov. 

I go back up the stairs to the monastery garden. I am looking at more mixed beds. I also find beds full of roses here and they looked quite fresh. Among the trees there is a bug hotel and a very strange iron sculpture. It looks like lace wall and three circles are placed on the panel. They had low resistance and so after spinning them, they spun for a very long time. The result was a kind of optical game of shapes.

Nakoniec som bol rád, že záhrada je malá a jej prehliadka mi netrvala dlho. V takej horúčave sa výlety robia ťažko. Zo záhrady som uličkou pomedzi domy prešiel na zastávku Edouard VII, z ktorej premáva autobusová linka 33 do starého prístavu v centre mesta. V Nice je mnoho pekných parkov a záhrad, tak ak sa tam ocitnete, neváhajte a spoznávajte! 

In the end, I was glad that the garden was small and it didn't take me long to explore it. In such heat, trips are difficult. From the garden, I walked through the alley among the houses to the Edouard VII stop, from which bus line 33 runs to the old port in the city center. There are many nice parks and gardens in Nice, so if you find yourself there, don't hesitate to explore!
