V Paríži som sa ocitol počas Dňa dobitia Bastilly 14.7.2022, čo je najväčší francúzsky sviatok. Priamo pri východe z metra je veľká vstupná brána do parku. Za bránou stojí historická rotunda, na ktorej už bolo vidieť zub času. Vnútri sú verejné toalety zdarma, čo poteší, keď chodíte celý deň po Paríži. Podľa online mapy som zistil, že po parku vedú rôzne chodníčky, no jeden, ten hlavný, má okružnú trasu a tak som sa rozhodol ísť po ňom. Jednou z prvých "vecí", ktorá ma upútala, bola skupinka neopadavých magnólií veľkokvetých. V tom čase nekvitli, no vidno, že je tu mierna klíma.
I found myself in Paris during Bastille Day on July 14, 2022, which is the biggest French holiday. There is a large entrance gate to the park adjacently at the subway exit. Behind the gate stands the historic rotunda, which has already seen the ravages of time. There are free public toilets inside, which is nice when you've been walking around Paris all day. According to the online map, I found out that there are different paths in the park, but one, the main one, has a circular shape, so I decided to follow it. One of the first "things" that caught my eye was a group of evergreen magnolias. They did not bloom at that time, but it can be seen that the climate is mild here. 

Postupne odkrývam tajomstvá parku. V smere, ktorým som sa vydal, míňam rôzne letničkové výsadby a rozmerné ihriská pre deti. Oproti, vnútri okruhu, je park koncipovaný ako malá krajina. Mierne zvlnený terén, kosené lúky, sem-tam skupinky statných stromov umiestnených presne tak, aby to všetko pripomínalo vidiecku krajinu. Tu naozaj zabudnete na ruch mesta a ani vám nenapadne, že naokolo je Paríž. Mnoho ľudí tu prišlo behať alebo oddychovať s rodinkou na tráve. Bola totiž nedeľa. 
I gradually uncover the secrets of the park. In the direction I went, I pass various annual plantings and large playgrounds for children. Opposite, inside the circuit, the park is conceived as a small landscape. Slightly undulating terrain, mowed meadows, here and there groups of sturdy trees perfectly positioned so that it all resembles a rural landscape. Here you really forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and you won't even think that Paris is around. Many people came here to run or relax with their families on the grass. It was Sunday.

V parku je čisto, k dispozícii sú aj pitné fontánky. Ako tak postupujem, začínam si všímať tú najväčšiu prednosť tohto parku. Na lúke či medzi stromami, sú umiestnené sochy a malé stavby rôzneho typu. Sú postavené resp. vyrobené tak, aby vyzerali staro a navodzovali pocit dávnych časov. Pôvodná myšlienka bolo ohúriť a prekvapiť - preto sú to rôzne stavby pripomínajúce staroveký Egypt, Rímsku ríšu alebo Čínu. Napodobeniny tváriace sa historicky. No samozrejme, všímam si zaujímavé rastliny, predovšetkým stromy. 

The park is clean, drinking fountains are also available. As I walk around, I begin to notice the greatest advantage of this park. On the meadow or among the trees, there are statues and small buildings of various types. They are built or made to look old and evoke the feeling of olden times. The original idea was to amaze and surprise - that's why they are different buildings reminiscent of ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire or China. Historical-looking imitations. Of course, I notice interesting plants, especially trees.

Park som prešiel proti smeru hodinových ručičiek a dostal som sa až do severo-východného cípu. Tu už z diaľky vidím nádhernú antickú kolonádu tvoriacu polokruh okolo jazierka. Táto stavba je ikonou parku a nájdete ju v rôznych turistických sprievodcoch. Musím uznať, že je to obrovská paráda. Celé jazierko, stromy, brehy a kolonáda harmonicky ladia a navodzujú pocit pokoja. Smútočné vŕby, statné platany a dokonca aj volavka. 

I crossed the park counter-clockwise and reached the north-eastern tip. Here, from a distance, I can already see a beautiful ancient colonnade forming a semicircle around the lake. This structure is an icon of the park and you can find it in various tourist guides. I have to admit that it is a huge show. The entire lake, trees, shores and colonnade harmonize and induce a feeling of peace. Weeping willows, stout plane trees and even a heron.

Milujem botanické prekvapenia a ani tu ma neobišli. Potôčik som už minul a predo mnou sa po ľavej strane objavila umelá jaskyňa tvoriaca skalku. A pred ňou mrazuvzdorné palmy trachykarpy. Popri nich viedol k jaskyni chodníček, okolo ktorého bola mini krajinka, napodobňujúca vidiek - drobný farmársky domček a kravička. A to všetko pod tými palmami. To je kompozícia!

I love botanical surprises and they didn't miss me here either. I have already passed the stream and an artificial cave forming a rock garden appeared in front of me on the left side. And in front of it, frost-resistant chusan palms. Next to them, a path led to the cave, around which there was a mini landscape imitating the countryside - a small farm house and a cow. And all that under those palm trees. That's composition!

Jaskyňa sa nachádza v približnom strede parku a tak som sa dostal naspäť k rotunde. Môj dojem je veľmi pozitívny. Park nie je plný kvetín, ale za to je esteticky navrhnutý a pôsobí veľmi príjemne. Vďaka sochám a stavbám "precestujete" celý svet a pritom ste stále v Paríži. Bolo tu minimum turistov a na chvíľu som si mohol odpočinúť a nabrať energiu na cestu rýchlovlakom do Marseille. Tam som navštívil botanickú záhradu na brehu mora. 

The cave is located in the approximate center of the park and that's how I got back to the rotunda. My impression is very positive. The park is not full of flowers, but it is aesthetically designed and looks very pleasant. Thanks to the sculptures and buildings, you can "travel" around the world and still be in Paris. There were a minimum of tourists and I was able to rest for a while and gather energy for the high-speed train to Marseille. I visited the botanical garden on the seashore there.
