finančnú krízu v histórii. Zhrniem to v skratke. V 17. storočí začali vznikať prvé farebné krížence tulipánov a získali si takú obľubu, že ich cena rástla postupne nahor. Časom bolo vlastniť tulipánovú cibuľku tak exluzívne, že niektorí zapredali celé majetky. Bublina praskla, ceny cibuliek spadli a vypukla kríza.

Lale festival. V meste totiž rozkvitajú tulipány nie len v parkoch, ale aj v pásoch okolo ciest či v rôznych mini zelených plochách na námestiach a uliciach kdekoľvek po meste.
Today, Netherlands is the largest producer of tulips and thanks to this, we can buy bulbs cheaply and in different varieties. Back to Turkey. Istanbul isn't a capital, but it's a major economic center with an incredible 15 million people. In April, the Tulip Lale Festival takes place in the city. Tulips blossom not only in parks but also in lanes around roads or in various mini green areas on squares and streets anywhere in the city.

Môj prvý kontakt s tulipánmi nastal na námestí pred Novou mešitou. Je tu fontána, miestny bazár a trh. V obchodíkoch predávali semená a sadenice, rôzne balkónové rastliny aj sukulenty. Hneď sa mi oči rozžiarili, čo by som si mohol kúpiť.
My first contact with tulips happened on the square in front of the New Mosque. There is a fountain, a local bazaar and a market. In the shops they sold seeds and seedlings, various balcony plants and succulents. Immediately my eyes widened and wondered what I could buy.

Na námestí pod korunami ešte holých platanov, v tesnej blízkosti fontány a čo ma prekvapilo najviac, tak aj v okolí prístupu do podzemných verejných toaliet bola všade pestrá zeleň, najmä sirôtiek a tulipánov.

Zlatý roh The Golden corner
Dominantným miestom Istanbulu je tzv. Zlatý roh, teda komplex pamiatok Hagia Sofia, Modrá mešita a palác Topkapi. Uprosted stojí Sultanahmetov park s fontánou a samozrejme udržiavanou zeleňou a tulipánmi.
The dominant place of Istanbul is the so-called The Golden corner, hence the complex of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. In the middle stands the Sultanahmet park with a fountain and, of course, maintained greenery and tulips.

V Topkapi paláci žil sultán a jeho harém, takže je to obrovská spleť chodieb a izieb. No ja sa sústredím na malé zelené plôšky v areáli paláca. Ako inak, v tomto čase kvitli alebo sa ešte len chystali kvitnúť tulipány.

Oproti námestiu Sultanahmeta, cez električkovú trať, stojí akási zrúcanina mramorového oblúka. Predpokladám, že počas roka toto miesto nie je výrazné, no so stovkami krikľavých tulipánov bije do očí. Nie je čo dodať.
Opposite Sultanahmet Square, across the tram line, there is a ruin of a marble arc. I assume that this place isn't bold during the year, but with hundreds of crimson tulips is simply striking. There is nothing to add.
Gulhane Park
Krátkou prechádzkou dolu kopcom sa dostávam poniže Topkapi paláca. Za vysokým múrom, priamo pod palácom, sa rozprestiera celkom veľký Gulhane Park. Je tvorený prevažne starými platanmi a predstavujem si, že v horúcom lete je tu príjemne. Keďže bol víkend, bolo tu nesmierne veľa domácich užívajúcich si teplý slnečný deň a hlavne tulipány. Veľmi veľa tulipánov. Celý park bol jarnými cibuľovinami doslova prepchatý. Rôzne farby a ornamenty, jednoducho kvetinový raj.
A short walk down the hill, I get to Topkapi Palace. Behind the high wall, directly below the palace, is quite large Gulhane Park. It is made up of mostly old london plane trees and I imagine that this is pleasant place in hot summer. Since it was a weekend, there were so many local people enjoying a warm sunny day and especially the tulips. Endless amounts of tulips. The whole park was literally overcrowded with spring bulbs. Various colors and ornaments, simply floral paradise.

V parku je aj moderná záhrada ruží. Zatiaľ čo kríčky ešte len pučali, hyacinty rozvoniavali do diaľky.

Milujem takéto okamihy. Zaujatý farebnou šou, zrazu sa tu zjaví nádherná mačička. Presne rovnaký moment ešte aj s rovnako sfarbenou mačičkou sa stal aj v
parížskom rozáriu . Je to neuveriteľné. Či za to môže osud alebo náhoda, vždy sa veľmi poteším. Mačky milujem a v Istanbule je ich teda požehnane :)
I love such moments. Overwhelmed by the colorful show, suddenly a beautiful kitty appears. Exactly the same moment, even with the same coloured cat happened also in the Paris rosary. Incredible. Whether it's fate or coincidence, I'm always very pleased. I love cats and there are many in Istanbul :) 
Rodiny s deťmi si užívajú prekrásne prostredie. Nikto nič nerieši, každý relaxuje.

Doslova more modríc ponad ktoré vedie mostík s tulipánovou mozaikou. Naokolo biele a krikľavo ružové tulipány. Nemá to chybu.

V posledný deň pred odchodom sa mi v centre podarilo stretnúť istého pána s margarétkami. Ktovie kam šiel a prečo. Krátka a náhodná momentka.

Istanbul je krásne mesto a preto v apríli hor sa do Turecka! Z mesta založeného v Rímskej ríši a bývalého Konstantinopolu budete uchvátení. Milovník histórie a botaniky si príde na svoje. Güle güle ! (Dovidenia).
